Alloy is a group of about 15 professional designer jewellers, silversmiths and metalworkers at all stages in their careers. Established in 1993, the group provides support and communication for makers based in Herefordshire, coordinating exhibitions and projects in the West Midlands and beyond. In 1998, the group was awarded funding from the National Lottery for a purpose built jewellery workshop at The Courtyard Centre for the Arts, in Hereford City Centre. With additional funding from Herefordshire Council and West Midlands Arts the workshop was equipped with tools, IT facilities and photography equipment, all of which are available for use by its members. We also have permanent exhibition showcases in the foyer at The Courtyard, featuring rotating exhibitions from both Alloys' own membership and other craft makers in the area. We have recently received funding from Net Infinity to extend our current marketing, training and exhibition programmes, including building on our very successful graduate placement scheme.
